The Acropolis of Lindos
Walk through the narrow streets of Lindos Village and up the summit of the Acropolis to see the magnificent remains of past civilizations. Marvel at the 4th-century B.C. Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, a double-winged portico, a Byzantine church and the fortifications of the Knights of St. John, including the remains of the Governor´s quarters. The view is truly panoramic and at the very foot of the Acropolis is St. Paul´s Bay, where the Apostle is said to have sought shelter during a storm. Below you will see the clustered, old whitewashed houses and narrow streets of this delightful village, a popular haunt of artists and writers.

Special Notes – Acropolis of Lindos Tour
Approximately 270 steps and cobblestone pathways lead to the Acropolis of Lindos. A shuttle bus is available to transfer visitors from the coach parking to Lindos Village. Passengers with physical limitations are requested to consider this. Please be aware ongoing restoration work is often carried out. The drive from Rhodes Town to Lindos is approximately takes one hour each way.
